Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, better popularly known as Ari Lennox, is an American music producer and vocalist from Washington, D.C., who was the first woman to become a member of J. Cole's Dreamville Records record label. On the 21st of October, 2016 Pho was released by her, her debut EP for the label Dreamville Records. That was the day she was first recognized. Shea Butter Baby, her debut album, was released on in May 7th, 2019. Ari Lennox uploaded her first songs online in the year 2012. She dropped five singles in 2013 and Five Finger Discount in 2013 and Ariography EP in 2013. In 2014, she continued to make music available on the internet, including her independently issued single Bound. In the year 2015, she was featured in Omen's Elephant Eyes Album on the song Sweat it out on July 21. J. Cole asked her to be a part of his collaboration on Rihanna's reference. In the following period, she released music that circulated through Dreamville. The 8th of December was the day she reported that she had contracted to Dreamville Records. The singer appeared on the joint album Revenge of the Dreamers II which featured the track Backseat alongside Cozz. She released Pho, her debut album on October 21st on the 21st of October in 2016. Ari Lennox appeared in J. Cole's Change song and opened with the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017. In 2018, she was able to guest feature on two songs with her label-mates EarthGang in Nothing but the Best and Bas on Icarus. Ari Lennox's album debut Shea Butter Baby was released on 16 July 2018. First single, Whipped Cream From the album dropped on September 5, 2018 with unreleased music videos. The second single she released was for Grampa on November 9. In November 13, she dropped two singles titled The No One as well as Pedigree. She then appeared in the Creed II soundtrack with Cole on the track Shea Butter Baby on November 16, which was then released as a single on February 26, 2019, for her debut album of the same title. The music video debuted on the 20th February of 2019 for the track. Within one week, the video had more than 3,000,000 views. She was the opening act for 6LACK on their From East Atlanta With Love Tour in December of 2018.
